Don't "Chance," Suggest!

Hey all!
I'm having some trouble refining my college list.
I was wondering if some of you could look at my stats, and instead of saying "In, Match, Reach," just give me suggested colleges instead where I would fit in academically.

GPA: 4.0 UW (Small private school does not weight classes (and see AP section), but I have taken all the hardest courses available.

Rank: Val, but only out of a class of 40 ^

SAT I: 1st Sitting: 2120
2nd Sitting: 2220
Superscore: 2220 b/c my 2nd sitting, I improved in every section lol

SAT IIs: finding out tomorrow/this morning! I'll edit later :)

APs: Here's the bad part: my school doesn't provide "AP" classes. My courseload is very rigorous and college-prep worthy, but they're not designated "AP." Anyway, I took the AP Lit test this spring independently (that score comes in sometime this month). Next Spring, I plan on taking AP Language Comp and AP Calc independently as well.

Academic Awards:
none like Intel/Siemens that are hooks, but:
National Merit (I'm on the border of CS and SF, we'll see.....)
Furman Scholar
Wofford Scholar
Sewanee Book Award for Promising Writers
various schoolwide class awards...summa cum laude...etc.

ECs:
-Speech and Debate (NFL) is my big one b/c I have awards on the regional, state, and national levels
-Varsity basketball for 2 years
-Theatre (lead roles in every production)
-Mock Trial for 2 years (Lead Attorney)

Comm. Service:
-volunteer counselor at summer camp for underprivileged minority kids for 3 summers
-volunteer tutor for above kids ^

basic work experience:
Chick-fil-A for my freshman summer LOL
Basic sit-down restaurant for 2 summers
(30 hrs-a-week at both)

also, I write a lot. I'm still deciding whether I should actually send in my work as supplemental material, or just mention it as a passion of mine.
I hope this leads to great essays (if Star* or any of the other CCers who read my EC short answer are around, they saw my work)

ANYway, do you guys have any suggestions on possible matches or "reaches" that could be...well....within reach? lol

doggone it, 4 views and no responses....

You are very similar to my D, except she doesn't have your ECs--she's too busy writing, and only slowly becoming aware of the need to broaden her horizons.

Since I'm having trouble with where she should go, I am not sure what to suggest to you.

She will be NMF, too, and at first I thought she should consider colleges that will give close to full-ride scholarships for NMFs, but now I'm not so sure, as she may need to be in company with other high-achievers just to stay motivated, and these schools have a bit lower admission standards as a rule as they are typically state u's. Not that there is anything wrong with that, and she undoubtedly will wind up at a state u. if I can't find anything else affordable. It's just hard to know which one.

lol thanks for the input.

Specifically, guys, do you think I should even TRY for any of the Ivies, or just stick with reaches like Georgetown, Duke, etc.??

Better to try and have lost, than never to have tried at all.
Sure, try. What's the downside? You will always wonder otherwise.

Where are you from? You probably have best shots to get into your state's schools. And in-state is cheaper than OOS.

lol Shoiab, I'm from Texas, but since I'm valedictorian, I'm automatically in to any state school, and my first year is automatically freee.

If I have to resort to going to UT, I will be the saddest person on the face of the planet.

What do you want to major/study in?

Based on your GPA, and SAT score...

If you want to major in...
Business= UPenn, NYU or Cornell
Engineering= Stanford, MIT, or University of California-Berkeley.
Education= UCLA, Stanford, or Columbia

If you want to apply for top schools= UPenn, Duke, Stanford, Rice (In your state), and Ivies (Brown, Dartmouth, or Cornell).

You can also try Harvard, Princeton, Yale, MIT or CalTech but make sure you have to present yourself as a dedicated student. You HAVE a chance since you have high GPA and SAT score.

I heard UT-Austin is a good school.. you don't want to go to ANY UT schools?

Your safeties would probably be UT-Austin, Texas A & M, or any state schools.
