Okay, so my search for colleges has not been going so well. I know that I really want to get involved in the film/TV/media industry somehow, but I’m not sure what to do or how to get there. I really like to write (I think I’m pretty good at it since I’ve taken a lot of creative writing classes) and was thinking of going into that, but I’m not sure where. I’m not a very good artist, but I love to edit things on the computer. I would really love any input whether it be from past experiences, current experiences or just some tips.
If you can shell out the cash, Sarah Lawrence may be a promising option. Everything you have said reminds me of people I know who went to/attend Sarah Lawrence, including writing, editing, filming, acting, and generating media generally. If you look at their distinguished alumni list, you will find those professions very vastly represented.
Emerson, Bard, Columbia College Chicago, Goucher, et al. Bard has a unique application option: you can write four prompted essays instead of furnishing test scores and transcript. You could also look at the College of Creative Studies at UCSB.
