Alright, well, I live in Michigan, and the two universities I am most seriously interested in are the University of Michigan and Kettering University. One thing that I want to do, is something CREATIVE. I don't want to be stuck just doing gritty monotonous work. If I majored in Mechanical engineering, could I be able to do this? What about the other engineering areas?

anyone? please help me out

Architecture, but that really isn't engineering. What exactly do you mean by creative? Many engineering problems, for example, can have creative or ingenious solutions or are you using creative as in an arts area?

I basically mean that I want there to be some design element in what I am doing, not neccesarily in an artistic manner, however.

Engineering is full of design elements; in fact, design is probably the most important part of engineering work. You'll have plenty of opportunity for design in an engineering career ... mechanical engineering included.

(I'm a Professor at Kettering University, so I'm incredibly biased, of course ...)
