Do I apply for housing before I am officially admitted, or do I wait until after? University of Florida allows you to pay first to get preference, but what does UCF do?

If you think you are going to attend, apply for housing as soon as you can (as soon as they start taking applications). They allot housing by the date that the application and fee are sent in. That $100 will come off the first semester's housing bill. If you are not accepted I think you get the $$ back. If you are accepted, and decide to attend another university, you forfeit the $100.

If you haven't read this article, that was posted a few weeks ago, take a look:

You cannot apply for housing at UCF until after you are accepted. The housing website says that the applications will be available in December 2007.

"Summer 2008/Fall 2008 Housing
Housing will be available for freshmen, transfer, and graduate students on the Orlando Main Campus and at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management Campus for summer 2008 and fall 2008. Application instructions will be available in December 2007."

I am confused: mom2three insinuates that you can apply for housing now, even if you have not yet been accepted because she says your fee will be refunded if you are not accepted. However, seiclan says that you cannot apply for housing at UCF until after you are accepted.

Which one.

I stand by my post.

Sorry for my incorrect info....
Apply for housing as soon as you can, which seems to be after you are accepted. I'd double-check their website in December.

My son got his acceptance very quickly. So we applied for housing very soon after he applied for admission. I didn't remember that it was after his acceptance, or that his acceptance had been a prerequisite.
