If you say that you want to be in a specific dorm on the first-year housing form, do they take this into account? Or do they ignore dorm requests?

Ignore it.

yea, they just want to know if u need any special accomadations... i.e. elevator, no-smoking, substance-free, help with spelling (im going for that), hehe, joking about the last part

is anyone in here thinking about going into the substance free or same sex dorms? I don't know what type of ppl request those dorms...prudes or just straight-laced kids?

i dunno, im all for a good time, but i could consider being in a substance free dorm. it could be kinda nice to not have to deal with it as much. then again, it seems like "substances" are part of the college experience.
anyhoo. that's my two cents.
rory

I tend to enjoy my substances and if I wanted to live just with girls I would have looked at women's colleges. (Not that same sex hallways/dorms are that extreme, just saying.)

they allow drugs in dorms? ***?

Well, they technically don't allow drugs in any dorms. The idea of a substance-free dorm is that they actively enforce the substance rule and that the students are committed to a substance-free lifestyle. In normal dorms, while drugs aren't allowed, drug policies usually aren't strictly enforced (unless things get ridiculous).
