<p>My D will going to Brown this fall and I am thinking about the kind of dorms she should request for–substance-free or quiet halls. Now is it true that such dorms are normally on the ground floor? She prefers not to be on the ground floor…</p>
<p>Go down the forum page a bit and click on "Dorm Life - Special interest housing". Please read threads and search for info before posting. Also, we don't know everything that's going to happen next year with housing as it changes year to year. The Office of Residential Life does - call them.</p>
<p>I wrote the post wolfmanjack is speaking about, there is a link to reslife special interesting housing on it which was somewhat helpful. I had hoped to get students opinions on these living options and how they view them, or students opinions who actual chose these options. But I do not think alot of student choose these options..thus the lack of data.</p>
<p>I did call reslife and some of the students answering the phone were helpful. So I would recommend a phone call to help answer your questions.</p>
