Just wondering for people that have already stayed in the dorms. Where do you change your clothes? In the bathrooms or in your dorm? If you do change in your dorm do you wear a robe to your room? I'm not comfortable with changing in a room someone else is in, even if their back is turned. Any advice?

I just changed in my dorm room, but if you’re uncomfortable changing with someone else in the room, I recommend either finding times when your roommate is gone to change, or changing in the bathroom.

Some of the residence halls have small individual “study rooms” on each floor. You can use those as an alternate to the bathrooms.

What dorm are you in? Some of the dorms have closets that you could walk into & change in (McMahon does). Some don’t (Terry doesn’t).

Me personally, I am not shy and I would just change in my dorm even if my roommate was in there. In the morning, I would pick out what I want to wear and bring that to the shower and put it on after I took a shower. At night, I would just change into my pajamas whenever.

If you don’t want to do that you might have to go to the bathroom. I would not recommend going to a study room – they don’t lock.

Haggett also has walk-in closets.

Wait so if the bathroom is not on your hall. You basically have to walk back naked to your dorm room?

During A&O I just changed in the shower rooms, wrapped a towel around my self and put some clothes on. Not really a big deal

They have these things called bathrobes. :)

So, the option of changing in the shower stalls, how does that work? You bring your clothes in and where do you leave it? A hook? The shower’s wet once you’ve finished showering. Or do people usually bring it in a bag and then open it up to change?

Well, I didn’t actually change IN the shower. I just changed right outside the shower. It’s like a locker room. If you really absolutely will not change where anyone is, you will probably have to deal with the walls being wet in the shower. Maybe you could put your underwear & bra on and then come out and put the rest of your clothes on?

And yeah, when I lived in a dorm where I had to travel to the bathroom – (I lived on the second floor and bathroom was on the third floor) I brought a bag of clothes. When I lived in McMahon (bathroom located right in the suite) I just brought my clothes still on the hangers and hung them up. All the bathrooms have hooks, as far as I know.

Huh. Interesting. Why don’t we just go coed like berkeley huh!?!?!
