My housing offer was Clark Kerr. Its reputation seems to be that it is much more expensive than the units or most other dorms. However, on the comparing rates website, (Living at Cal 2011-2012, UC Berkeley Housing), it says that it is the same price as the units for a single, double or triple (which I was offered.) I should trust the website, correct? Does the reputation simply come from the price of the suites in Clark Kerr which are relatively very expensive? Thanks for the help.

Rates are rates; trust the website.

Truth of the matter is: all dorms here are extremely expensive, relatively speaking. The cheapest dorms you can get still cost over twice of what it’d cost to live in an apartment.

A Clark Kerr triple in the 2nd or 3rd floor of building 3, 4, 7, or 8 will likely have more than enough room to arrange the furniture without needing bunk beds. The same is unlikely to be true for most other triples.

Clark Kerr is further away from the main campus than most other dorms. It may be a significant trek if you are a psychology major.
