dorm room essentials

I was wondering what you are bringing since I'm looking for all my stuff right now and i'm not sure if i remembered everything i need.

here's a start--toiletries, laundry hamper, clothes, first aid kit, alarm clock(very important), pjs, laptop/pc, detergent, hangers, desk lamp..

<a href="http://www.thedormitoryonline.com/WhattoBringtoCollege.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.thedormitoryonline.com/WhattoBringtoCollege.html</a></p>

This mom is going shopping for my son's dorm because we are flying in.
Don't worry, I enjoy shopping and he hates it plus, the best thing for him, it will keep me busy and out of way so he can enjoy himself.
I have the room essentials list, but do not have a school supply list. I would rather use up some of the giftcards he recieved for graduation, than have him purchase supplies at the bookstore with his own money.
Anyway, are things like 3 ring notebooks still used in college or just spirl? when I went to college, I can't remember using 3 ring notebooks anymore. How about magic markers, colored pencils or now just the color printer is used for stuff like that?
Thanks, all for any suggestions about essential school supplies.

I echo the previous post in wondering what kind of school supplies we should bring with us for college. It is probably a lot cheaper to buy them off campus.

Here is a list of dorm stuff that I have accumulated some may not apply, but feel free to take a look...

Wow!

With 2 to a somewhat small dorm room after both roomates buying all this stuff, I think the room will look like this..

<a href="http://www.auctions-registration.com/ebay/%5B/url%5D">http://www.auctions-registration.com/ebay/</a></p>

how the heck does that lady stay clean if her shower is occupied by boxes????

Just in case anyone didn't know, all USC dorm rooms come with a MicroFridge (Microwave/Mini-fridge combo), a 3-drawer chest, 3-drawer desk w/ keyboard drawer and hutch, "rocking" desk chair, and, of course, the extra long twin bed.

High-speed internet (make sure your computer has an ethernet card) and basic cable is included. You can also get HBO/Showtime for an extra charge.

BTW, I'd highly suggest bringing your own comfortable desk chair if you can. I've never sat in a more uncomfortable chair than the USC ones.

That house is in dire need of an arson.. I know it sounds bad, but I think that is the only way to get rid of all of it... God bless all of those who dare to enter that house, i would be ashamed to have ppl over.

HOLY ****...that house is unbelievable.

this may sound silly but if you bring your own chair where do you put the chair that they give you, especially because the room is so small.

haha very good question and I was wondering that as well.

That link makes me incredibly sad. That woman has major compulsive disorders. She is a "saver/collector" and it can, obviously, get way out of hand. I have a family member with the same problem. She and her husband are currently in a lawsuit with the city because their house is in jeopardy of being condemned. Frankly, that might be the best thing, but people, this is truly a sickness! The family member I am talking about used to be an incredibly intelligent woman with every opportunity available to her and she has fallen into the grips of this hell. Not funny, to say the least.

I'm sure Trojan Housing will be glad to take the chair back.

the term for people like that is "pack rat" or "hoarders". They simply cannot throw away things.

last year i bought a rolling chair and put the old one they gave me under my bed.
