What are some pros and cons of dorming this coming quarter?
I think the biggest pro is not having to worry about being waitlisted for Winter Quarter. We registered my son for Fall housing, but I’m not terribly optimistic students will move on campus, given the recent surge in Covid in San Diego.
If students do move on campus, I think a pro would be having an opportunity to meet others on campus and adjust to campus life while there are less students on campus.
The cons: You may feel like a guinea pig with the Return to Learn Program. You/your parents may pay for something that doesn’t get used or is only partially used and you may need to be available to move out at a moment’s notice.
We made the decision to register him for housing because we needed to give him some hope that there is some end in sight to the great disappointment of 2020.
