Dorming question

I'm just a bit curious I applied to the dorms kinda late got a 5600# where do they post the Dorm decisions do they send it by mail or through the website?

I'm also a bit nervous because I am a transfer student who will be dorming, the reason I'm doing it is because I pretty much don't know many people that go to FSU so I figure If I live there i will have to socialize and make a bunch of friends.

Thank you.

They send your assignment to your home address in June. It’s early June for Summer and later June for fall.

I think a dorm for a transfer is a great idea for the first year.

I got into the Living Learning Community in Wildwood but I also have a chance for a Landis since I am in the Honors Program as well. My number is 3671, a pretty high number as well, so I don’t know if I should risk the opportunity at Wildwood for a shot at Landis. Does anybody have an opinion on Landis and Wildwood that can help make my decision a little easier?

My son is in a triple at Landis this year and enjoyed it so much he is one of the student tour guides for the prospective students and families. This is his first year and was really glad that he’s on the east side of the campus. We didn’t send in for housing until mid-April and he still got into Landis. If there is an overflow of honor applicants, they put some in Gilcrhist which is just east of Landis and is connected by a second story enclosed bridge. (Broward Hall is also connected and the three buildings are referred to as “BLG”)

Sounds like an interesting experience. Hopefully I get a good roommate. I went to to one of the older halls and the place looked like a prison cell. I hope I don’t end up with one of those. But If I do I’ll have to deal with it.

ttriber, it really is the people and not the concrete that make the dorm. You will see. You will have a good experience. And while you are there, convenient to everything, remind yourself of classmates in apartment who have to either take the bus or drive an hour early to class just to drive around for 45 min looking for a parking space.

Thanks for the positive re-enforcement.
