So I’m a junior and was curious about the dorms at Davidson:
Are they nice?
Are they spacious?
What’s the best freshman dorm?
What are the differences?
Secondly I was wondering about the communal showers:
I know they’re not “gang” style, but still do you have much privacy?

I’m a current student and will say that the dorms at Davidson are above average. I say that because all the freshman dorms at Davidson have sinks in the room so you don’t need to leave the room to wash your hands, brush your teeth, or wash your face which is INCREDIBLE. As far as size goes, they’re pretty average and storage/closet space is also pretty average overall. For freshman dorms there are four dorms-- Richardson, Sentelle, Belk, and Watts. Rich has co-ed floors and even though the rooms are tiny most people who live there end up LOVING it because the halls become so close. Sentelle is nicknamed “Hotel Sentelle” because the rooms are SUPER nice and spacious. They are gigantic, hardwood floors, large windows, lots of space, and pretty new. The halls in Sentelle are single gendered and tend to be pretty close (not as close as Rich though). Belk is the largest freshman dorm (and the one I lived in freshman year). The rooms are averagely sized and since the halls are so large you don’t get close with your entire hall, but you will find a few friends you click with on the hall and on other floors. Since there are so many freshman there, it’s really easy to meet people. The floors in belk are split in half so one half will be the boys and the other half is the girls half. Lastly, Watts is less renovated than Sentelle but the rooms are equally spacious. Watts floors are single gendered and tend to be pretty close as well since they’re so small. As far as partying goes, all freshman dorms (unless you’re on a subfree hall) will party and the parties themselves are down the hill anyways so don’t worry about that at all.
