Dorms at HWS (and the languages department, and merit based aid)

My daughter is a perspective senior who's very interested in HWS. She has a fairly stong academic background (2050/1320 on the SAT's, 97 unweighted average, 3APs, 4 College Classes & 2 LOTEs). I've been looking through the boards for a few days, and I have seen mixed reviews about the dorms, about finiacial aid, and about several language departments; however, some of the comments were several years old, and I was just wondering if anyone had any more recent info. Thanks!

My daughter had similar stats and got a substantial merit award from HWS (20k/yr). . We attended the special event for Presidential Scholars in March and were very impressed. We have friends whose kid graduated from HWS and is heading off to a great graduate program (science). Now the younger sib- an athlete- is starting. My daughter decided on a different school with a more “artsy” feel.

In the scheme of things, dorms may not be a deciding factor, but you should definitely tour them at different schools and compare.
