Also, where do the Big 4 Firms recruit?

Bump… Anyone?

I heard that majoring in accounting/finance is redundant because the two are so related, yet at the same time people say that it’s good to do both since the two are so related. I personally would do something that complements my major, which I don’t think finance would do a great job of versus economics, statistics, etc.

Accounting has come into the picture because some of the schools around my area are good for accounting (Ole Miss and Alabama). I wanted to do finance, and that’s how accounting came into the picture.

Does anyone know about the Big 4?

Bump 10 char

What do you plan to do in the Big 4?

Accounting/Finance is a great combination. They do cover a lot of the same ground, but that makes it easy to double major in and you’ll find the skills for the other useful if you go into either field. That said, it’s not going to be a huge resume boost, but economics won’t be any better.

I know that the big 4 offer decent pay to first-year CPAs and look really good on your resume when applying for management positions or MBA programs because they give you a lot of applicable experience in the business world.
