double major bio/spanish in 4 years?

i'm a current senior in high school,
and i got into uci chp!!

i was wondering..
how hard would it be to double major in bio and spanish?
is this possible in 4 years? i will probably be taking classes in the summer every year (if that helps?)
i'm also pre-med..

my ap scores are:
bio 5
chem 5
spanish lang 4
calc ab 4
psych 5
art history 4
euro hist 5

currently taking [likely score]:
physics b [3/4]
span lit [4]
eng lit [5]
calc bc [4/5]
microecon [5]
compsci a [3/4]

would it be a smart idea to waive all these courses? or would i be at a disadvantage, going up against students who have already taken them?

thanks everyone!

Yayy congrats!
You’ll definitely have a lot of units coming in, so I think it’s doable. I’m not sure how many units the Bio or Spanish major consist of, but I know most people (in other majors) actually have to pick up at least a minor to complete the graduating 180 unit requirement.

You can probably do it, unless there’s a lot of courses in those majors - so someone correct me if I’m wrong! If anything you can always minor in Spanish. Just make sure you plan out your schedule so that you don’t waste a class when it can count for your majors/GEs. I’m not sure if the CHP requirements will affect you, HumCore definitely won’t though, but if it does you may want to try to waive a class in the future. But that’s thinking way ahead :).

smiley, what is chp?

hey. I was just wondering if you got into uci and the chp recently or in Feb…?

chp = campuswide honors program …

With those scores, I think it’s definitely possible to double major in 4 years  I think you can handle the courseload, but the only thing stopping you might be getting a class in time depending on how early your registration date is, and it could delay you from finishing in 4 years. Btw, did you already decide on going to UCI? USC highly accomodates double majoring w/ a minor and guarantees you finish in 4 years, cus I recently met a plethora of double majors when I stayed at USC…

Most definetly you can double major bio/spanish. You practically completed your first year bio courses in UCI and maybe two quarters for chem. Most your classes in your first year would be majority of GEs or classes for spanish requirement.
