im on the pre-med track and thinking of double majoring in philosophy and cognitive science and double minoring in music and classics...if i did this would i even be able to have a life in college or would i pretty much die from all the stress?

and as a side question, which is better as a major: cognitive science or psychology?

Psychology is a more popular major that Cognitive Science, but both have their strong points. I would suggest talking to professors when you arrive at Hopkins in order to see which one caters to your interests more.

As far as your question about the double major and double minor, I would highly suggest that you do not do that, especially if you are on the pre-med track as well. There are just so many classes that you need to take for all of your requirements (major, minor, and pre-med) that it would be extremely difficult. It isn’t that you wouldn’t be able to have a life - but you would most likely have zero flexibility when it comes to the classes you needed to take, and it may be difficult to graduate in four years. You have plenty of time to decide, so just make sure you look at all of your options.
