Hi, I'm a prospective student for CMU MCS '17, and I was wondering if it's possible to double major in Applied Physics and CS. If I can double major in physics and CS, would I still have to take the core courses required for MCS such as H&SS/FA, Modern Biology, and Introduction to Modern Chemistry? For double majors / dual degrees in physics and another department, I know it's possible, but only if the other department (i.e. SCS) is granting the primary degree. Since I would be going into the Mellon College of Science, would I still have to take the MCS core classes?

Yes, whatever is your primary major, you have to fulfill that department’s core requirements
