Double Major in School of Social Sciences

I'm thinking of double majoring in Econ and Sociology. They both belong to School of Social Sciences at UC Irvine. I checked the rules on double major, and I found one says 'In fulfilling degree requirements for multiple major (within School of Social Sciences) , a maximum of two lower-division courses may overlap between any two majors.' So in my case, I can only use two lower-division classes to fulfill both majors. But that way, I don't know how the rules are for upper-division classes. Can I use as many as upper-division classes to fulfill both majors?

I can't find a counselor at school because they always send me to a peer adviser. I can't take advice from peer advisers since they are not sure about that as well.

Does anybody ever double major in School of Social Sciences at UCI and have used many upper-division classes to fulfill two majors? Need help. Thanks.
