I am going to be a freshman at the university of cincinnati in the fall and i have been having the hardest time deciding my major. I would like to double major in zoology and anthropology with a pre-med program. Is this impossible? Should I reduce the anthro major to a minor?

Pre-med is just a sequence of courses, almost all of which you are going to need for that zoology degree. If it is not hideously difficult to double major in zoology and anthropology at your university, you should be able to squeeze in any parts of the pre-med sequence that aren’t a major requirement just fine. Look up the specific requirements for each of these three programs (it all should be on the university website), and make your own schedule for the next four years. See if you can make it fit. Don’t forget to double check for distribution requirements!

Good luck!

You can do whatever you want as long as you take reguired classes for Med. School. I believe that your majors are related, so it is not too bad. You can always reduce to minor later. My D. is Zoology major. She has 2 minors: Music Composition and Neuroscience. Make sure to maintain high GPA for Med. School application. Zoology major has been tough. Good number of Honors kids (pre-meds) have changed their plans and pursuing something else. Be prepared to work hard. D. might end up going to U of Cinci College of Medicine. The best of luck!
