Double major?

If you're in CAS can you major in Finance and Bio? Or do you need to be at stern to major in finance?

CAS students can't major or minor outside of the school, unless they're in some sort of special program, I believe.

CAS students definitely cannot major in finance, but Stern and CAS have some sort of agreement so I think you can minor in finance.

what about a stern student? Can he double major in both finance and biology?

if you are in stern like me :) then you can double major or co-major within the school or have a minor outside of the school...no majors outside of the school. My advice, if you want to work business in the medical field you will have to do a major in bio in undergrad then get an MBA later (ppl from many backgrounds get MBAs so this is quite common).

I am just concerned about being well-rounded and wants to major in a science im interested in.

Downprince, if your concerned about getting an education that YOU want, while concentrating in a science then you should consider Gallatin. Its a lesser known program at NYU with about 200 entering freshman every year. It is basically the best program at NYU, you have very very basic requirements, in your first year you take an interdisciplanery seminar (a 20 person class, I'm taking a course called Capitalism and Democracy). and a Writing class (I'm taking Writing Justice, these are 15 person classes) you can look up the course descriptions and see that these are all very interesting classes. Then you can take ANY two other classes at NYU, and i mean ANY. and from that point on you just have to take one more writing seminar and that is for your required classes. Then you just need two humanities, a science or math, and some other very light requirements, nothing like MAP. So you basically create your own plan of study and your major.

but keep in mind gallatin is for combining and creating majors, not for double majoring in two separate things.

i wouldn't say gallatin is the best...stern scholars, CAS presidential scholars?

Trust me it is, you get individual attention from advisors, faculty, there is a peer (student to student) advising board as well. My advisor deals with me and about 8 other freshman.

Actually, for Stern students, there are several programs in which you can double major in CAS. This policy changed very recently, but only applies to certain subject areas.

another question, can I major in economics and study law in cas?
