Double Majoring as a Transfer Student

Is it possible to double major as a transfer student? I am interested in applying to schools with a business program (like Penn and Notre Dame), but I would also like to earn a degree in computer science. Is that possible for a transfer student?

Anything is possible I guess. It would depend on how many AP credits you would have, how many credits at your current school transfers towards degree requirements at Notre Dame. You would have to talk to an Admissions Rep to get a better answer.

Only about 1/3 of Mendoza students have a secondary major. So if you want to pursue the double major out of a sincere desire, then go for it. If not, please don’t feel you have to have a secondary major to be a competitive graduate.

I believe you cannot transfer to ND and major in business. You could do computer science and take business classes or have a double major in economics. I would recommend asking the Admissions Counselors, though.

Notre Dame took 15 transfers this year into Mendoza. For the previous 10 years they didn’t take any transfers. I’m sure the number will vary from year to year going forward.
