Yep, that's me in a nutshell. Nothing truly special about me in anyway when you look at only the stats. A bit sad.

I really, really, would LOVE to go to WashU or Northwestern, and double major in Poli-Sci or Environ-Sci & theatre.
My safety is UIUC.

And now the question you've all be waiting for:
WHAT ARE MY CHANCES?

Thanks, guys

Also, how hard IS double majoring at WashU? And how are the political and environmental science majors? The theatrical majors? As in, are they very difficult? Engaging? Challanging? Amazing? Anything?

Thank you :-)

I'd say you have pretty good chances. Your chances would be much better with some higher scores.

Your scores are exactly the same as mine were (32 an 2070). With some hard studying, you should be able to get to a 2270 and 34 (where I'm at). It's optional, but it's worth it.

I plan on double majoring in poli sci and biz. I have no idea if this is a good idea (yet) or not.

I'm thinking about dropping biz and adding film. Oh the confusion.

My daughter's scores were a bit lower than yours and she got into Wash U. ED1. I recommend you choose which school you prefer - Wash U or NU (my alma mater) and apply ED. Chances are definitely greater with ED than RD. Wash U loves interest, so be sure to visit campus (it's an easy drive from Chicago.)

...one more thing, based on your interests (theatre, journalism, etc...) I suspect Northwestern is a better fit for you than Wash U. NU is just SO strong in these areas! You will meet many people who can help you in your career, particularly in theatre...

I adored Northwestern, still do. But my daughter is a better fit at Wash U, based on her interests, than she would have been at Northwestern. Think about what you want to do with your life. The people you meet in undergraduate will benefit you forever, not just the four years on campus. If you want to have long-term contacts in the entertainment business, you'll make more at NU than Wash U.

Yes, I've heard NU's theatre program is incredible, and ideally, I'd love to go there and major in theatre. My parents, however, are not-so-cool with that, so applying as a theatre major (which I'd have to do, as you can't double within Weinburg & the college of comm) isn't going to be possible. With WashU, I wouldn't have to apply as a drama major...I could declare it once I got there.

Thank you for your advice!

Why not apply to CAS (is that Weinberg?) and minor in theatre. So what if you don't get the theatre BA degree... you will still have the contacts and learning. I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't award the degree in addition to whatever other degree you've earned if you complete all the requirements (!?) If Northwestern doesn't allow things like that, I believe Wash U. has a big advantage. Wash U. is INCREDIBLY accomodating of double majors, with the majority of the school (or so it seems) pursuing multiple disciplines at once.

Hmmm yeah, that's true. And that's a really good point. Thank you so much for your help :-)
