double majoring in art + biology??? is this bad?

im planning on going to at least graduate level in biology because there is a field of bio that i specifically want to focus on. with this in mind, will it hurt my chances when applying to graduate school if i also have a degree in fine arts?

I don't see how it can HURT your chances. Perhaps art isn't one of those majors that easily combines with biology, but if you have a background in bio, you still stand the same chance of getting into grad school. Besides, if you kept your GPA up for both majors, it shows you're dedicated and can handle a larger workload.

The only case it can hurt you is if you're very defocused, and don't do enough in the area you want to apply to grad school under.

Look, one reasonable option is to just take more classes in art, and not force a major. Try to take all the classes the strongest students in bio might take. Then, add on art. If you really like art, I'm sure you'll handle it.

But adding an entire major on is rough as a decision. Do it only if you have a good reason to do a major, not just take classes out of interest.
