Double majoring in microbiology and biochemistry?

Hello!
So next year I’m going to be attending Montana State University, which has this awesome option where you can take as many classes as you want per year, while only paying for the minimum amount of credits possible. I’ve also completed most of my gen ed requirements through high school, so I’ve cut down about 25~ish credits already. I’ve looked at the required classes to double major in both biochem and microbiology and found that I’d only have to take maybe 5 extra classes throughout my college years to graduate with both degrees.

My question is, is it worth it to do those extra classes and graduate with both degrees or should I just stick to biochemistry? Any thoughts are appreciated and l’ll answer as many questions as I can.

Thank you guys!

Have you checked with the university to make sure that you can double major in these? My degree is microbiology and at my alma mater, you could not double major in microbiology and biochem, due to the massive amount of overlap. Other than P Chem, the majors were very similar. If you can double major, it couldn’t hurt, but it also probably isn’t very differentiating, since they are so similar.
