Double Majoring or single minoring?

While I am trying to make a difficult decision, the very need to make such a decision is great because I AM ALMOST THERE!

Ok, I go to a state school in Minnesota, double majoring in Mass Communications (Photojournalism) and History - or am I?

I would like nothing more than a Spring 2008 graduation. I have the next two semesters planned out to make it possible, but this plan is based on getting a History minor, not a major.

To get the double major, I am required to earn at least 150 credits, which is doable. If I take 16 credits this summer, all relatively easy electives, I can have 2 degrees.

I won't have financial aid, but I will probably sell my relatively unused Macbook laptop to pay for part of it.

My question: Is the double major worth it? Why? Why not? I assume most posters are going to reply with a "Yes," but why?

No. A history major is pretty useless once you're out of college...so I don't think it's worth a sacrific of a laptop. Just my opinion.

No offense, but if you have financial need, how can you afford a mac?

Be sure to check your university's specific policies very carefully before making your decision. Although your school might be an exception, every single college that I am familiar with would give only ONE bachelors degree in a situation like yours. And that degree may or may not even have your specific major(s) written on the actual diploma. (Majors and minors will be noted on the transcript however.)

Why would the BA be in only one concentration?

Will that BA have the same value?
