Double Majoring

Hi all,

To be honest, I am more of a spectator to the CC community. I rarely reply unless I really know what I am talking about, and after reading many of the threads about the advantages and disadvantages of double majoring.

A little about me: I currently attend a community college, but I will be transferring with 57 credits after a year and a half of school - oh how I wish I was a Junior! I won't specifiy which school I am going to because I would rather have replies that are considering what I want to do, not where I want to do it.

I am seriously considering doing two majors: History and 'Rhetorical and Applied Writing,' or General English. I am not sure of the difference between the two, and that question can be better answered either by you or a transfer adviser in the coming couple of months.

From what I know, History and English have enough of a relationship so that one subject may aid the other - in fact, a history professor that I work closely with at my CC has MA's in History and English and has taught both.

Any thoughts or threats?

Thanks in advance!
