Double URM, Bad Gpa?

What did you mean by ‘estimated’ 11th grade GPA?
And is the GPA you posted unweighted or weighted? I mean if it was a 4.0 UW then you would be getting all A’s, so I’m guessing you are talking about weighted. More importantly, what is your class rank/percentile? It’s hard to judge how qualified you are without specifics

My dd is mex american and has slight native american history that we’re working on documenting. DD is a legacy at Stanford. Had 4.4 gpa and armload of ec’s. Didn’t get in.
AS an URM, you can’t assume that you are owed things because of old ancestors histories; that’s naive and arrogant. In other words you are not entitled to everything based on race. It’s what you do for yourself to prove to the universities that you are worth their investment-like high gpa and community involvement. It’s also whatever the school is looking for at the time.

There are a ton of URM students now. What you do to stand out is what you need to consider when applying to schools. Don’t assume it will be handed to you.

Auntbea, Thanks for that story about your dd that helped! And I don’t feel entitled to anything at all. I don’t wish to come across that way and if anything I am incredibely grateful. What do you think about ,y chances at University of michigan- Ann arbor. ?

I think your chance at Michigan would probably be better than the ivies; go for it, you never know!
