Does anyone have any opinions/experiences of this?

Are there any disadvantages or maybe even advantages of starting at BS in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade?

I'm thinking of applying to more schools next year if I don't get into the one school I applied to this year.

Next year I will be applying as either a 10th grader, or possibly a 9th grade repeat.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance. =]

I entered in the 10th grade and I don't feel that there was too much of a downside to it. Getting to know people was a little harder since many kids already knew each other, but dorm life helped a lot with that. After the first month or two I didn't feel that there was a significant difference between the new and returning 10th graders. There are some differences with requirements, 4 year students can get some done sooner, or they have more.
Some requirements were less for entering 10th graders. I had a little more flexibility in my schedule which was very nice.

If I had to do it all again, I would enter as a 10th grader.

That's very good to know. You are currently at Andover, correct?

Yep, I go to Andover

That was the only school I applied to for this year. You are so lucky to be there. I've visited multiple times: interview/tour, SSAT, the nutcracker, the Day with Andover in January, and I've attended several sporting events. I live 10 miles away so I visit when I can. I don't have one negative thing to say about one person or place that has to do with the entire school. The students and teachers are so incredibly friendly. It's amazing.

It sounds like you're really in love with the school. I hope March treats you well, and if it doesn't there's always next year.

That's why I'm not going to be completely devastated if I don't get in this year because I have no problem re-applying and possibly attended after having a feel for high school.
