Downloading the application? ASAP!

Well, downloading the app is the most viable option for me at the moment, because the one I had has been destroyed (five-year-old with a magic marker, hehe) and I don't think I have enough time to request another one.

The problem is that the one that's on the website, supposedly to download and print out, is the same as the writable one, except it's not writable. It even has the "By typing my name...." and "Electronic signature" bit. (I don't want to use the writable one either, partly because the input font is gigantic in some parts, and partly because it is likely to make my computer explode.)

Is is acceptable to use the printable one and just write where it says type? Or will it be necessary to drive into Boston (about 2 hours, which I am willing to do) to pick one up? My school doesn't exactly keep them on hand.

Thanks for the answers in advance...

Why don't you just do the application online through the commonapp website?

Again, it's likely to make my computer explode. :) I am running on WinME (the most obsolete OS ever, obsolete when it was made) with literally the least amount of memory that it is physically possible to have in a computer. And my guidance counselor has this thing about doing everything on paper that I possibly can (ie, everything but the ones where you have to do it online or else prove you don't have internet access) so that she can keep track of it, otherwise I would try on another computer somewhere.

No one else at my school, as far as I know, is applying, either, so I can't borrow theirs and photocopy it. (Which is tricky to do anyway, if it's already filled out.)

Conundrum! Hmm...
