how does the Columbia DPT program (Physical Therapy) compare to schools like USC or WUSTL? Though they are top ranked I know that Columbia being an ivy must have something that makes it competitive to this programs.

Any thoughts?

I have to say that I didn’t know Columbia had a physical therapy program, nor did I know you can get a doctorate in physical therapy. Is this, like, below DO school or a foreign MD in the pecking order?

Well, I don’t know about pecking order but I do know that you wouldn’t equate a DPT with an MD at all.

Although DPT’s have extensive knowledge it is a clinical Doctorate and not a Medical Doctorate. It is on the same lines as optometrists, dentists, P.A., and that sort. How PT’s and MD’s interact is that for now, prescriptions are needed from an MD to see a PT, unlike Chiropractors who have full control of who they see coming through the door.
