Hi! I am wondering if anyone here could speak about the undergraduate Drama Major (the BA program) or even just the Drama Department at Stanford University. I have perused their website quite a bit and it seems quite good, but i haven't heard much from people about the department. I would appreciate if anyone who has knowledge about the drama/musical theater opportunities at Stanford to share.
I'm currently deciding between Brown and Stanford to double major in Theater (Acting) and Psychology. I know Stanford is ranked as #1 psych in the country, but i've heard a lot more about the brown theater department than that of Stanford.
thanks!

I don't have first hand information on theater at Stanford but I hope somebody here does. I also hope you can get some contact names of currrent students in the drama department at Stanford whom you can contact. I just want to congratulate you on your awesome acceptances and I imagine you can't go wrong at either school, but of course it is best to ascertain as much as you can about each to see which is the better fit. My D goes to Brown and I can tell you that the theater and MT opportunities there are plentiful! There are a lot of bright kids who choose Brown for theater and MT as their first choice and not a BFA program. Lots of talent there (I've been to shows there). You don't have to be a theater major to be in productions. Also there is a student run musical theater group that puts on additional musicals.

I have a friend who goes to Stanford - not a theatre major but he was pretty actively involved in theatre in high school. I'm going to see him within the next day or so so I'll ask him :)

I realize that this might be viewed as necromancing, but this thread still has not received an adequate answer, and I have the same–yet modified-- question that I am hoping someone will be able to answer:

Are there any musical theatre opportunities at Stanford?
