Drama Book Store in Chicago

I am going to be in the Chicago area next weekend and I wondered since they have great theatre - is there a bookshop similar to the one in NYC anywhere in Chicago? I have my monologues already together for auditions but would love to look around for more. If there is a really good one anyone could recommend that would be great. Thanks!

I can’t vouch for any of these personally, but it’s a good list to start with.

The Harold Washington Library has a Performing Arts resource library in it as does Roosevelt University (CCPA). They are both located in the South Loop within a block or two of each other. Good chance to look around CCPA, too!

For those touring Northwestern during Unifieds (about 40 minutes on the Purple Express El train on weekdays, Red line to Purple line on weekends) they have a great collection of scripts, but I’m guessing you might need to know someone to access their library. You could call ahead to find out.

I keep hearing awesome things about the musical theater library at CCPA. It’s like a candy store, apparently…my son needs another 8G on his iPod.
