Dreaming high?

I am glad some of the posters seconded my opinion that you apply to a better college.

It is not only about getting in but also getting out of college :). You should apply to at least 2 dream schools, give yourself a shot.

If you want a more detailed assessment you can PM me, I am in Delhi.

Chimni, Top-5 grad

Whoa aniruddhc, CMU '15, thats impressive! Btw i think I might know you. Hmm. Anyway as for the OP’s choices yeah sure you should make it to most of them since they all have really high acceptance rates. And sorry to be a bummer but I disagree with ani. I dont think you should apply to much better places, since your academics are rather mediocre. Your ECs are good but yeah a 9.2 in 10th isnt that good honestly. Rather lets put it this way, no harm in applying to better places but dont harbour too much hope of getting in especially since you’re applying for aid.

Hmmm… Ok. Thanks for the advice :)

All the universities on your list except IIT-Chicago are state universities. Unless I’m mistaken, these universities do not offer financial aid to internationals. There are merit scholarships of course, but the competition for these is intense. However Illinois Inst. Tech is known for its generous financial aid for internationals (not full tuition or anything, but still pretty generous), and I’d say you have a good shot at making it through.

Agree with others.
Except maybe Gatech those are all matches for you. Apply to at least 2~3 reach places.

ok… Thanks guys :)

you’ll get into all the schools you mentioned.
Apply to Cornell, Northwestern, Duke, UIUC, UCB, UCLA etc also. That’s where you are touch and go.
