Universities HELP needed

Hi all,

I am an International student, currently studying 12th Grade in the United Arab Emirates in a school which follows Indian curriculum CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).

I am planning on doing Aeronautical Engineering in my undergraduate.

Hope anyone could guide me on what universities I might stand a chance or getting accepted for Aeronautical Engineering.

I dont have GPA grading in my school. The grading is purely based on marks obtained:
9th - 85%
10th - 90%
11th - 80%

I had also recieved a half-fee scholarship in grade 11.

ACTIVITIES :
I have been selected to attend the Global Young Leaders’ Conference (GYLC) in Washington/New York this year.
Swimming
Singing
Made Robot for science exhibition
Created a presentation on the periodic table
Helped the team in coming 3rd in an inter-school robot competition
Part of the school Anti-Smoking Committee
I have been learning Indian Carnatic Music vocal for over 10 years and have give a 2 and half hour concert. I have also been learning Carnatic Music violin for over 3 years.

SAT SCORES:
MATH - 700
CR - 600
WR - 600
Planning to give it again to improve my score.

Going to give SAT II's in November. Will get above 750 in maths, physics and chemistry.

Teacher Recommendations will be really good. Not sure what the school counsellor will write (but got info from previous school mates in US universities that we usually get really good recs).

Am going to start working on the essays when the apps are released and HOPEFULLY they should be good.

Will appreciate all responses. good as well as bad.

Thanks all.

Just to add to the above information.....i am planning to get around 2100 in my next SAT coz this time i have seriously practised hard.....the previous attempt was just for getting a feel of how the SAT was....another reason was that my dad was still thinking of whether to send me to US. Now he has finally said YES....yippee

Because your an int. student that works to your advantage and looking at your averages id say you have a 3.0 GPA (85%). 1900 SAT isnt bad in fact pretty good for 60% of american schools. If your looking at IVY's good luck with that. but for everything else you have a chance

i don't think 85% means 3.0 GPA....coz if i take according to the grades i have recieved per subject (the school gives grades but does not rank the students on the basis of their grades). For both 9th and 10th i got A+ in all my subjects. 11th was A's in few and B's in few

85=B=3.00

It dosen't work that way for international students . I came from India to US after finishing 10th grade (got a 85% on the SSC exam) and my school converted my grades to a 4.0 GPA and I maintainted that GPA during my juior year.

Hey sudu1989, post this thread in the international forum, you will get better help there.
