Is there any type of a dress code at Hopkins?

No. No dress code.

It’s a college. I would hope not.

No shirt, no shoes, no service.

Seriously though, I did send son off with a suit and associated accessories as well as a sports jacket, button down shirts and nice khakis. I think he has worn all if it at least once to various receptions etc.

Clothing optional.

It’s definitely worth bringing nice formal attire, you never know when you might need it. I’ve used mine many, many times in just two years for various things.

With that said, there is of course no dress code. That would be absurd.

There is a dress code. You are required to wear a pin stripped undershirt, a sweater vest, and an ascot. No ties, just ascots.

It doesn’t hurt to wear a nice shirt, pair of slacks, and polished shoes when going to the dean’s office.

I’m from the West Coast and when I got to Hopkins I had a bit of culture shock - a significant portion of the school dresses VERY preppy. Ralph Lauren polos tucked into pastel shorts with a belt and boat shoes. I had never seen anything like it. That said, you can where whatever you want; I have stuck to my roots and just rock jeans and a graphic tee wherever I go. Just bring formal wear for formal occasions and interviews, etc.

I know for a fact that son wears cargo pants and t-shirt (usually band themed) everyday including the one time he went to the deans office (no, he was not in trouble :D).
