Got in Alhamdulilah with 36k in aid and scholarships but need another 12k in aid. Does anybody know how to ask for more aid or whether Drexel awards more aids if we ask them?
@sountact97 My son has also applied for architecture - so we seem to have applied to many of the same colleges. You said that you were accepted at Syracuse- did you not have to withdraw your applications from other schools if you were accepted ED? Just curious…
@Britmom5 Under the ED contract (at least in my experience) you are able to still apply to other schools as long as its not another ED decision. I applied ED to Syracuse only. In the letter they gave me, I had from when I got the letter (December) until the first week of February to accept or decline. I was able to easily decline since I simply didn’t get enough aid to attend. You usually at least have until aid comes out to still be applying to schools. The schools usually don’t give many issues about declining ED as long as you provide whatever documents they need. Hope this helps ^^
Thanks, @sountact97 ! Its not any of my business, really. I was curious because my sons were telling me about a kid they knew who had applied to several schools ED - and we had been discussing the illegality/ lack of ethical reasoning etc
I tried appealing both in writing and on the phone and was basically told to take a hike (in a nice way of course, although not that nice). I find it discouraging because it’s the most expensive of a great number of colleges and the aid doesn’t seem to equalize them to make it an option.
Daughter was accepted for civil engineering. $47K financial award, including the federal loans. At $71K a year, daughter will most likely decline. Didn’t see an accepted students day. RPI was much more generous. Waiting on Stony Brook and other schools to decide.
received an email from Drexel today offering me provisional admission to the BS/MS Psychology program, and admission to the Honors Program and the STAR Scholars program.
according to my portal: “Provisional admission means that Drexel has identified you as an excellent candidate for this program, but to remain eligible and receive final admission into the program you must continue to meet certain guidelines. To accept this offer of provisional admission into the BS/MS in Psychology accelerated program, you must accept the terms and conditions associated with the program and submit the Accelerated Degree Program Statement of Understanding by May 1.“
