I have an amazing best friend who wants to become a car engineer.Would Drexel be a good choice for him? What gpa ACT and SAT(out of 2400)should he have in order to get in?

Car engineer? Yes Drexel's top ranked engineering program would be a great choice for that. There are several different routes you can take, but probably the most appealing would be the Applied Engineering Technology Degree. Think of it as an engineering degree, but more hands on than theoretical. My roomate is in this program and builds and designs all sorts of stuff, robots, you name it. In fact the major is popular with older students who actually has their own car shop so they can do the same career path your friend wants, and many do very successfully.

Additionally, the co-op program of three six-month paid internships will give your friend a head in the door and work in the field of while still in college. Of course any regular Drexel engineering program would probably be a good foundation as well, such as mechanical or aerospace engineering, however AET in particular is a major Drexel offers that stands out from the rest.

As a leading research university, Drexel also is huge on new technologies and has done things in the past like creating air-powered cars and a few other things.

Lastly Drexel has a student organization FSAE (Formula Society of Automated Engineers) thats been around for many years. This student org actually does their own automative engineering, designs and builds their own formula 1 racecars, has a huge following, and a lot of funding and sponsors. I know they also have been designing formula1 hybrid cars as well. Then they actually race them... pretty cool and FSAE is just one of the many endless clubs and activities Drexel offers that is unique experience from any other college.

I'm unfamiliar with ACT scores. As far as SATs go, you'd probably want to shoot for over the 2000 mark, although I really don't know and it would be best to contact an admissions expert.

Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions about Drexel
