Hi.
So I am a current Drexel University Nursing student and well I am not having such a good time at college. It's a great college but I don't think it is the right college for me. It's not even the course load, although it is different being trimesters and all. It's more that I can't seem to adjust to the whole city vibe of the school. I'm having a tough time making friends and I just don't do anything while I'm there. It's mostly go to class, get back to the dorm, study, eat, go on laptop/netflix, go to sleep, repeat. I have zero social life there with the exception of a couple people every now and then to study with. Maybe it's just me because I am a pretty shy person to begin with but once I've broken out of my shell you can't get me to shut up. Drexel has wonderful program, so everyone says. I haven't really seen this wonderful program everybody is talking about but if it truly is I don't want to give that up just because I don't seem to fit in. But I also don't want to be miserable for the next 4 years of my life just so I can get a good degree. And on top of all that I am on financial hold and am not able to register for classes for my winter quarter until all of my fall quarter tuition has been paid off fully. yayme.
So I just need some feedback. Should I take the risk and transfer to TCNJ? (I originally wanted to go to TCNJ but was not accepted. And also it is closer to my home, and is in NJ my home state. Which could potentially mean more financial aid from the state.)
I also know that TCNJ has a pretty nice nursing program as well.
But I have heard some not good things about TCNJ, the whole people only have a social life if you're in a frat or sorority etc.
so please help! I'm torn.

I went to TCNJ for my undergrad and to Drexel for grad school. While I wasn’t living in the city for grad school, I can understand what you mean about not being able to adjust to the vibe of the school – it was a completely different world than TCNJ. TCNJ has a great nursing program with top notch faculty, and the students really take their work seriously. It’s a smaller, more close-knit school than Drexel and even if you commute to TCNJ you’ll find yourself in a close community that takes pride in what it does. If it matters, I had was not involved in Greek life at all and still had a big group of friends with lots of things to do.
