Many professors have strong accents which some students struggle with.
What about the quarter system? I just read about this and don’t understand how it works. Good? Bad? In theory, it sounds fun if I wanted to take a wide variety of course. However, how does that work in practice when you have to take Calc I, II and III, just like at a semester-based school? Are they the same classes but crammed into a shorter period of time? If so, are you in class more often per week to learn the material or are you expected to learn more outside of class than in a semester-based class?
Both my parents went there (albiet decades ago) but truly got a lot out of the co-op system. The school definitally seems to prepare people for the real world and provides a lot of experience and valuable internships that will give students a leg up when applying to graduate schools or jobs. That’s all I can say about it! But it is important to keep safety in mind-- there does seem to be a lot of crime in the area.
