Decision day is coming up and I still have no idea which college I should go to. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Drexel
Pros:
- Got into 5-year accelerated BS/MS program
- Got into honors college
- Got into the STAR Scholar Program (basically a research project where you make 4k over a summer)
Cons:
- I'd have to dorm
- I'd have to pay nearly 26k per year

Stevens
Pros:
- Got into 5-year BS/MS program too
- I'd be commuting
Cons:
- I'd have to pay about 23K per year

NJIT
Pros:
- Nearly a full-ride
- I'd be commuting
Cons:
- This is my last resort school. I know so many people that go here and they all tell me to NOT go there. From what I hear, the academics aren't that great and the social life is basically non-existent.

Help! Please! If I had to choose, I'd wanna go to Drexel, but it'd cost SO much. However, I'd wanna major in Information Systems at all three schools and the trend is that the salaries of people in that field has been increasing. Also, I'd be getting my Bachelor's AND Master's upon graduation at Drexel and Stevens, so I'm even more undecided.

Dorming is actually a con for you? I dunno that just kinda surprised me… Even though it does kind of suck having to live with a random stranger away from home, that’s part of the fun; just being away from family for a little bit and ESPECIALLY setting your own rules/schedule. If you’re commuting, you’re still technically living under your parents with their rules still set in place. Also, part of social life is somewhat dorming with another person because that person could potentially end up being your first friend, who then exposes you to a whole bunch of new friends and everything. Your entitled to your own opinion of course, but I was just kind of surprised that you said that.

And unless you’re REALLY worried about having to pay that kind of money for Drexel/Stevens, I would just completely rule out NJIT, at least in my opinion. That is, unless you think of college as more just a pathway to a good job, as opposed to a place where you should have fun (which is a completely understandable opinion). Because the way you make it sound, you’ll just have a terrible time at NJIT.

By dorming being a con, I mean financially. I actually want to dorm, but the cost would add 13k already. Ouch. But thank you.

If it is just the cost of dorming, then perhaps Stevens is the best choice, if there is any way of pulling off the $23 grand a year.

I am a Steven’s parent, and my elder son is very happy there with both the education and the “college experience.”
