Since the amount of partying at Tulane is a constant point of discussion, and recently came up again in another thread, I thought this article from the Loyola school paper would be interesting to some. I personally think the police are wasting their time, or even worse driving the drinking "underground", but I am sure others disagree.

I have not seen a similar article in the Tulane Hullabaloo yet, but if they report something similar I will post it.

I don’t understand why the police don’t cite the bars for serving minors? Why target the kids? That’s a losing battle. The bars on the other hand MAY become more vigilant if they are constantly paying fines, going to court or risk being shut down. I realize liquor laws in LA ore much looser than here in A, but bars can lose their liquor license if they are caught serving minors here. And, college students are ingenious. they will find a way to drink if they really want to. I always found it interesting that parents can buy their underage children alcohol in LA.
