<p>There's plenty to do on campus without getting drunk every weekend. It might seem like everybody drinks, but there are plenty of people that don't.</p>

<p>This is an uber-lame question...but I've had a steady girlfriend for the last three years, so I'm not really up on the random hookups scene.</p>
<p>How often does "hooking-up" mean sex? And where do most male students get condoms? I'd feel kinda weird buying them in a store and keeping them (possibly unused for a while) in my drawer, or having to keep one in my wallet all the time (and yes, I know not to do that for too long).</p>
<p>Penn is certainly a great school, but there is way too much of emphasis on athletics for an Ivy League school, particularly all the histrionics of Coach Joe Paterno.</p>
<p>I'm a freshman in the College. For me, the social life does primarily consist of drinking on weekends, but I know people who do not drink on a regular basis. Of course, my friends and I still go out to dinner and have dry nights.</p>
<p>I have become a brother at a fraternity because I liked the ideals of the fraternity. We have about three or four registered parties a semester at our house where we have free drinks for people who are 21 (or have fake IDs), a live band, and dancing. It is certainly possible to have a good time at parties like these without drinking. Many fraternities have unregistered parties that are basically supposed to be secret so that they don't get in trouble with the university. Generally, there is much heavier drinking at these parties, but they can be really fun too.</p>
<p>As far as pot smoking, if you are into it, it is there. I assume that's the way it is at most colleges. I only know of a few people who smoke frequently, and a few have my friends have smoked once or twice. It certainly isn't forced; if you feel the need to peer pressure someone in college then you have problems.</p>
<p>Don't worry about condoms - your RA or GA is required to give out free condoms and have them in the lounges of the dorms. Of course, sometimes they are hard to find, especially on big party weekends. At the same time, many people never ever have the need for a condom because they just aren't into random hookups. I find that it is pretty rare that people randomly meet and have sex.</p>
<p>I'm a guy, so I can comment on the girls. Overall the school is pretty good-looking. In my opinion, many of the girls are very good looking... it just depends where you look. Sorority girls tend to be better looking and more social, but this doesn't mean that all of the girls outside of sororities are bad looking.</p>

<p>It's supposed to be like a curve. The first is the bell curve, while Wharton claims that the girls of Penn are more concentrated on the "average" (re: middle) part of the curve.</p>
