Does anyone's school offer driver's ed. I am just wondering because I my older cousins tell me about how when they were in high school they were able to take driver ed. I know that most schools dont offer it but Im wondering if any of your schools do.
thanks in advance

My children's high school offers it for any high school students who live in the school district (public or private school students). They take the theory classes during school in 10th grade, or they can take a 30-hour program during the summer. They also take about 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a driving instructor for $25. Some of the smaller schools in our area have been dropping Driver Ed. Our high school has over 3000 students (9th through 12th grade).

That would be cool, I'd love some cheap drivers ed from school!

My school almost cut the free (to the drivers) drivers ed classes. It was 2 hrs of driving a week, and I forget how many hours of lecture. They almost got rid of it, but everyone rallied for it. It's a really good program. We prioritze it by birthdays. I'm a senior now, but I was the last person to make the cutoff last year to get DE in the fall.

My school used to only offer it in the summer through the school district, but now they also offer sessions during the school year, except it's through an actual driving school company, so it's more expensive. My school is actually really good for driver's ed because we actually have our own range fenced off in the back complete with parking spots, intersections, a watch tower, and about 10 cars.

for one marking period every year, instead of gym we have health. but in my school, instead of health in 10th grade, we take drivers ed.

We have drivers' ed., but the school did away with the cars years ago...It's just a class on road laws, speed limits, signs, driving while intoxicated, etc.

My school has after school classes, 30 hours total, and then 6 hours behind the wheel. I'm pretty sure I only paid $10 for all of it. We only have one teacher though, so it's hard to get in.

Our sophomores used to take PE one semester and driver's ed the other. But some years ago they dropped driver's ed, leaving a hole in that other semester. Most kids usually take keyboarding or lifeguarding just to fill that hole. What a waste, esp. since there are only 6 classes a day as it is.

Oh, but they still have driver's ed - for a $300 fee in the summer!
