^Hmm, that’s interesting. I’ve never heard of having social anxiety about interacting with other drivers on the road. I’m very shy myself, but that’s not really an issue for me. Anyway, my parents are planning on taking me to a parking lot to drive on Sunday, so that should help alleviate some of my anxiety of driving without a safety blanket in the driver’s Ed teacher next to me.

I’m afraid to drive too, but on the highway. I’m taking Drivers Ed, and even though I’ve had only six lessons so far, I feel so comfortable driving on the streets! I drove on the highway for the first time last week and it was soooo scary!! I refuse to do that again for a while lol

Forgot to mention this in my previous posts, but another reason why I’m uncomfortable driving is because I’m not very skilled in defensive driving, so I wouldn’t know how to react to idiots who do incredibly stupid, sudden maneuvers while driving, and I’m worried that if I were to encounter that, I’d panic and potentially cause an accident. Even though I already passed driver’s ed and received my license, I don’t see myself driving on anything beyond a two lane road for a while.

The main reason I hate driving is that in the Los Angeles/Orange County area, when you try to switch to someone else’s lane, by God almighty it’s their ****ing lane and no force in sweet sonny Jesus’ creation can take it away. Have fun taking the exit after the one you wanted.

What ***es me even more is when I turn on my blinker when there’s almost a car’s length where I want to merge into a lane, so the car behind the space yields as I wait for the other car to move up a bit, then the yielding driver changes his mind and moves up just as I begin merging. If you’re going to be an impatient **hole, at least have the courtesy to make up your mind about it before giving me the impression that I can safely go in front of you.

And people who go ahead of turn at stop signs, left turns out of parking lots onto streets where there’s always traffic in one direction or another due to poor traffic light scheduling, merging onto 70 mph freeway lanes from standstill traffic lanes, drivers who weave, drunk drivers…

Thank Periander for railroads, no?
