I;m currently a junior and I currently have a D in Calc BC this quater…the semster grade might be a C…should I drop the class??? How would that affect my admissions to BRown? I have good grades on all of my other Aps…HELP MEEEEE…

D (a HS senior) was struggling with the same problem in AP Calc BC this year. Failed the 1st exam (50's...yikes!), got 70-something on the next exam, went for as much extra-help as possible, nailed the next test (90's), studied with friends, did all the extra credit allowed, and will be getting a 95 on her next report card. Her dad and I were trying to talk her into dropping the course (she is taking 5 other APs this year) but she stuck with it and is doing well.
My humble suggestion would be to get all the help you can (extra help, study groups, tutoring) and stick with it. GOOD LUCK!!! (Let us know what you do...)

Remember, colleges don't receive quarter grades. So no one will ever see that D, and you have a whole quarter to raise it higher. I agree with notan4me, just get as much extra help as you can and try to stick with it.

thank you soo much!
I will let u guys know what happens..If i get a B this semester, I will hunt you two down and give you guys a hug :)
as of right now, im still stressing out

I dropped BC Calc this year (and actually had to go down to honors because AB wouldn't fit in my schedule) and I am so happy about it. BC Calc was the first AP class that I had taken where I felt like the only thing that mattered was the AP test in May. So the whole "learning for the sake of learning" thing just wasn't happening. And I had no friends in the class, so while everyone was studying together over the weekend, I was trying to ask them questions of Facebook and stuff and not getting straight answers. So I dropped the class even though I had a B in it (uber-curved).

So I think it all depends on what you want to get out of the class.
