Drop ECON 211?

Hey!
I'm not sure if this question can be answered here...but I'm getting desperate. :/ No one can give me an answer. ^^''

I'm signed up for PHYS 101, CHEM 211, MATH 211, ECON 211, and a few others, with a total of 19 credits. Is this too tough of a schedule? I have taken Physics C, Diff. EQ, Linear Algebra, and Organic Chem in high school, so I'm thinking these classes will be a review...but a bit more in depth and a bit more difficult, but none of the material will be completely new or anything.

I've heard that ECON 211 is a difficult class, so I'm kind of scared about taking it along with the other three courses. Is it doable? Or am I going to die from trying? Should I drop it and just take 16 credit? I don't want to stay up until 3 in the morning doing homework everyday, but I also don't want to feel like I've gone too easy on myself.

Most of the upperclassmen I talked to have different situations from mine...so I'm hoping someone here will be able to offer some advice. n.n

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Um, talk to your divisional advisor? He’s not just some guy you say hello to during O-Week and never see again.

In general, though, 19 credits are a bit much.

This is your first semester. Don’t overload yourself; give yourself time to adjust to a new life at Rice. You’re not in a race to the finish here.

^martel is not a college

add the class if you want, then drop a class if need be

Oh em gee you cut me deeply.

You have a long time to decide if you want to drop the class. Last drop date for first term freshmen is even later than for others, which is Oct 9th (Page 20 of the Thresher last week if you lost your other info). Start the classes you want and see how it goes. If it seems like too much, drop one. It is not a black mark to do so.
