Freshman schedule. Too much? too little? random thoughts?

Hi I'm an AEM freshman and I just finished this schedule a few days ago. My first impression was that it's too light. I would really appreciate any opinions/suggestions.

Schedulizer: Fall '09

The FWS is not decided yet, but that is the time slot I'm considering.

My main question is whether I should take one more course (I'm thinking about ECON 1120: Intro to Macro)

Ya you only have 13 credits once you remove the PE, and the 1 credit AEM class will not have much work. Macro isnt that difficult of a course. You might as well add it and if you feel overloaded, drop.

Intro Macro is disgustingly easy. I went to lecture once and decided to stop going because it was absolutely useless.

Sooooooooooooooo easy.

Man up and take particle physics, yo.

lol Ray192
i would if i were an engineering physics major XD
but thanks for everyone’s input
i did register for ECON 1120: Intro to Macro, which would give me 15 graded credits

irarchiedw, are you majoring in AEM or Economics?

zbn1012, I’m majoring in AEM

sorry, i didn’t read your post carefully. :stuck_out_tongue:
I think the schedule you have now is nice and easy to handle. maybe you should try one harder course such as calculus.

I can get credits for Calculus I, so I’m planning to take Calculus II in the coming spring.
Is it not advisable to blank on math courses during first semester? I’m actually a bit worried that I might forget what I learned come spring.

Why would you take Calc 2 as an AEM major? If you need two math classes use your ap credit for calc 1 and take statistics second semester. That way it is more applicable and you wont have to worry about forgetting calculus. I had trouble with Calc 2 straight from AB credit in my first semester and ended up retaking Calc 1 to re-learn the material first semester… I am sure many people do fine, but I remember a lot of people saying Calc 2 was pretty difficult, and if you aren’t used to the fast pace of college courses/don’t remember all of what is in Calc 1 you will have to push yourself pretty hard.

Since you’re considering taking MATH 1890, I’m going to assume you’re pretty good at math (note: awesome writing seminar, I loved it when I took it in the Spring). I’m an engineer, but in high school I had never taken integral calculus due to the different Ontario curriculum. However, I was able to jump straight into MATH 1910 = Calc 2. So if you think you have derivatives down, then feel free to move to Calc 2.

Also, your courseload is fine if you plan to single major in AEM. If you feel like you might be wasting your time, add another class, but don’t feel too pressured.
