Drop out college-first semester

Hello,
I’m an international student in an american college, this is my first semester here in my college. I’m having difficult circumstances-can’t explain them-will force me drop out my college and go back to my home country. if I could apply next year to us colleges again, would I apply as a freshman or transfer?
Bests, and thanks for appreciation

It depends on the school. Sarah Lawrence allows a significant number of college credits before the person’s a transfer, for example. The vast majority of colleges, if you’ve had several college-level courses, then you’d be a transfer. Check each college’s website for their rules. Best of luck to you.

You didn’t answer the questions posters asked you on your other thread…did you officially withdraw before any grades were posted this semester?

@Mwfan1921 Yes, before any grade posted

There may be a question on the application that asks if you’ve taken any courses past high school, withdrawals won’t matter. You have to be honest and answer yes.

I think you need to resolve your personal issues that affected you this first semester before even thinking about reapplying.

I agree that your visa will be impacted. Immigration does keep a record of your entry into the US, and you can’t bypass that information. You can’t say that your visa didn’t exist; they may reject a visa for you to return.

Most schools will consider you a transfer student, but you have to check with each school.

You can’t lie about this because there is a clearinghouse that will notify the college if you had previously matriculated elsewhere, and also make sure you paid all bills in full.
