Dropping a class after acceptance?

I was accepted ED to Skidmore College, and recently noticed that I was signed up to take an elective class that I didn’t particularly want to take, and isn’t really necessary at all since I’m already taking 2 elective classes. In addition, I’ve been a teacher’s assistant since the beginning of the year during the period this class is scheduled for. So I emailed the admissions department regarding with a request to drop, and was told that my admissions decision would be put in jeapoardy should I drop the class, but that they would make a decision on whether they permit this. I didn’t think this would be that big of a deal since I already have 4 APs in my courseload for this semester, but should I be worried? Again, this is an elective, non-honors class. Any input?

Normally I would say it shouldn’t be a big deal but you need to let the college know you are dropping it. But

when the college says that I would tread lightly and keep the class.

I wouldn’t mess with this after the college gave you a warning like that. Stay in the class.

Agree with above. Suck it up and see the class through. Don’t do anything to jeopardize your acceptance.
