Dropping a course before transferring. Advice please

Hello there, I applied last fall to several UCs (Davis (TAG), San Diego, Berkeley and Irvine) as a Computer Science major. I have a 3.76 GPA, and I put in my application that I would do Linear Algebra, Data Structures with Java, and General Chemistry II, but for very extreme circumstances I may have to withdraw from Chemistry II

The reason being is that my grandmother who lives abroad is having very tough health conditions since last year and has only gotten worse. She’s 90 now and the last I heard (two days ago) she had pneumonia, I haven’t seen her in 4 years but she pretty much raised me before I left her and I really need to see her one last time.

I explained this to my teachers and they were all O.K with it except for my Chemistry teacher who said she would have to drop me if I missed 2 labs in her course, and I’ll only have the money to travel next month.

My main choice is UCSD and Davis (which has an approved TAG). Dropping Chemistry would not put me under 60 units and I will have an over 3.0 GPA by the end of this semester. Looking in UCSD’s page, Computer Science (the major I applied) has the following requirements

http://admissions.ucsd.edu/transfers/prep-programs/transfer-major-preparation.html
MATH 20A, MATH 20B, MATH 20C, MATH 20F
Minimum of one programming course in Java, C, or C++. For colleges with ASSIST articulation agreements, the minimum will be CSE 8A, CSE 8B, or CSE 11.

All of which I have (besides Linear algebra which I should be able to finish this semester)

What confuses me is that assist.org for Computer Science lists Chemistry I and II as a requirement even though it’s only required for Computer Science with a Specialization in Bioinformatics, which isn’t what I applied for.

I’m not too worried about Davis since even if I’m dropped from Chemistry I will still have fulfilled the TAG requirements, but I am very worried about San Diego, but I also fear regretting not seeing my grandmother when I could.

Please advise, I don’t know what to do. Thank you.
